This Year's Advent Calendar

Inspired by a few things - friends with good ideas, a son who wants to know how many days until there is a Diesel 10 under the tree, and a daughter who loves to read and count - I decided to make a new advent calendar this year. I got the idea for a calendar with 25 Christmas activities (like reading a book about Christmas, drinking hot chocolate, taking family walks, watching Christmas movies, etc...) from a friend on facebook. I had no idea how to implement it, so I just winged it. I used an old canvas, some burlap, twine, upholstery tacks, clothespins, staple gun, paper and crayon and came up with this



Each folded piece of paper has the number on the outside and something written inside for us to do that day to celebrate this season.
