resting

apparently, it's a rare enough occasion when drew naps that when she does, i take a photo. usually it's an illness that brings her to the point of snoozing during the day and today was no different. with a fever, ear infection and sinus infection to boot, she spent a lot of today doing exactly this

beat

i just found this picture from the end of eli's birthday. he had his big party and all the excitement of getting a train table and we thought we might have to put a pillow and blanket on the train table for him to go to bed that night. instead, he curled up with a train in one hand, on his mama, with a note from his big sister. major sweetness.

dirty

today was the most glorious warm, sunny day. absolutely perfect for a family day. we spent almost all day outside. i worked on a furniture rehab project out on the patio, eli and drew spent hours digging in the sand turned mud, we went for walks. The kids got so dirty playing outside and it made my heart happy that it was warm enough to play, dig, make mud and throw sand as long as they wanted. They finally came in a little while ago and got cleaned up, and 2 minutes after being snuggled in his towel, Eli was snoring in my lap. A sign of a really good day...

I'm testing out the sanitary cycle on the new washing machine right now :)

Sunday

After a big busy day Saturday celebrating Eli's birthday, we took off yesterday for the river for a quiet day of relaxing and fun with mom and dad and a little tiny celebration from them for Eli's big day. Here are some photos from the day...
