Riding Bikes

The kids were really good for an errand I had to do this morning so when we were done, I took them to the park for a picnic and bike riding. Here are some pics of Drew helping Eli on his bike, and then leaving him in the dust.

Eli on video

Eli and I had a quiet morning at home today. While he was playing nicely, I decided to try to sneak some video. The first video is of him when he didn't know I was recording. I know what he's saying in most of it, but it's probably nonsense to anyone but me :) At the end, he is mad at the baby doll, Emma, for not holding onto the toy (which is mega blocks, but Eli uses them as trains and calls them "choo choo trains").

This next video is just him being silly while knowing I'm recording.

Reading With Pop Pop

Gigi and Pop Pop arrived back in Florida today. After picking them up at the airport and Eli claiming all the way home that he wasn't going to talk to, hug, or play with Gigi and Pop Pop when we got home, he relented as soon as he realized that Pop Pop can read train books :)

The kids read some books and did a little wrestling with him before mom and dad had to leave our house. We are glad they are home and can't wait to visit very soon for lots more fun!

An Evening At The Playground

After a quiet Memorial Day at home, Drew asked if we'd all like to go on a family date to the playground :) How could we turn that down?

Miss Drew

Drew had a fun and goofy day today - from doing her own hair to playing outside to showing me her new dance moves. Here she is in all her goofy cuteness.

it's raining, it's pouring...

It has rained all week here, with little in the way of a break from it. Trying to make the most of it, we've been getting creative inside by building forts with couch cushions, having picnics in the living room and turning the coffee table into a train table.

Sweet child of mine

We've been drowning here in Florida this week, with 4 straight days of rain. We started going a little stir crazy today. Jason was off work, so Drew invited me on a date. I said sure and then she told me to "get ready", all serious like. Well, what does that mean? Oh, she wanted me to get out of my jammies and put on nice clothes and maybe even take a shower. So, I did. While I was showering, she put on a dress, asked Daddy to do her hair, donned her cutest shoes and waited patiently for me. I squeezed into my black dress pants, put on heels and a decent top without food smeared on it, skipped makeup (I don't think she minded) and we were ready. Jason snapped a few photos of his dolled up girls before we headed out.

Two Little Monkeys In Monkey Shirts

Eli was wearing his monkey shirt today. I took Drew shopping for some new tshirts and shorts today and she picked a monkey shirt out. Then she said she wanted me to take pictures of her and Eli in their monkey shirts to put on their monkey website. She's so cute.

Drew cooperated and sat still but we couldn't get Eli to. He sat on the other end of the couch, covering the monkey on his shirt and saying "no". In case you weren't aware, he's 2.

Evening Beach Stroll

We had a fun-packed day here at home, getting lots of projects worked on in addition to lots of kid fun. At the end of the afternoon, I got dinner ready and stuck it in the oven then the kids and I left Jason behind to finish up a project and have time to himself while we went for a stroll on the beach. I wanted to collect some seashells and Drew has been asking to go to the beach just to go for a walk and not to play in the ocean and make sand castles. So, we left our suits at home and just strolled. It was wonderful. I apologize in advance for so many photos. Sometimes I just can't help myself.

A New Toy

I went out to a garage sale this morning and found this super cute little tricycle for $5 so I got it for cutie pie Eli who is still too little and uncoordinated to use the bigger Radio Flyer tricycle. He loves this one even though he can't pedal yet. He just sits and tells us to make him go :)

I told him to smile. He said "no" and covered his mouth to keep from smiling

Drewbie

I feel like Drew hasn't been getting much blog time here. I don't know, maybe I'm just imagining it. But she's not the most cooperative when the camera comes out, so maybe that's why.

But today, she actually requested a photo while snuggling her babies

This one, I snuck :) Sleeping in the cardboard box lid to our new dishwasher. Yes, she's silly.

Still Pooped Out

The kids obviously had a fun-filled long weekend with Grandma Joanne. The couch looked like this yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Afternoon at the beach

Since today was Grandma Joanne's last day visiting, Drew got to play hooky from school today. We went to playgroup at the playground this morning, went out to lunch and then headed to the beach since Jason was off work early. The kids had a blast. It was beyond a perfect day for beachin' it.

After Drew dug herself out, Jason, Joanne and Drew headed back for the water to swim. Wait for me, Grandma!

I heard Eli behind me, "mama! a hole! you fill!" and I turned around to find him standing in the hole ready to be buried. When Drew saw that, she sprinted back to not miss a chance to bury her brother in the sand.
