playing outside at the river
we have spent the weekend at the river and with a storm on it's way this afternoon, and knowing we're headed back home tonight, we took off to explore and play for a while this morning. The kids climbed trees, ran around, picked grapefruits and soaked up a beautiful day.
yes that is a pink drewbie way up there in the tree.

My Girl Drewbie
Drew and I spent Eli's nap yesterday by enjoying some time outside, digging in the garden, walking around the yard at the river and sitting on the dock looking at wildlife and chatting and giggling and pretending to be alligators. She helped me pick these 4 photos to share and she has chosen the title of this post, "My Girl Drewbie"

Baby Toes
Eli took a little nap today and after a while came out of his room to find me, curled up on me and fell back asleep for a while. I laid on the couch with his long self draped across me and I stared at his sweet baby toes for a while. He's growing and changing to fast. I don't want to think about the days when there won't be any more baby toes in my life so I am going to appreciate them while I have them now.

A Day of Thanks
We spent the day today, quietly relaxing on the river. We had a quiet dinner with mom and dad's friends who generously invited us to share the day with them after mom and dad ditched us (haha). The kids had a great time, playing, adventuring, laughing, learning and resting.
On this day of thanks, I want to thank our friends for being unfailingly supportive, full of laughter and advice when needed; our families for your unconditional love and support, helping us to raise and nuture these two little monkeys; and to the two little monkeys with whom I spend my days, thank you to both of you for loving life so much, filling my days with laughter, love and learning. I love you both and am thankful to both of you for making me a better person. And thank you for loving each other, filling my heart with love.

The House
Hello friends and family. I know I have received requests for house photos (hi aunt robin!) and have yet to do it, so here goes. This is what we've been busy doing over the past 2 1/2 years. It's been tiring, exciting, frustrating, slow and rewarding. Here is our labor of love, in before and after photos:

Exterior Before
This is the only photo that survived a computer crash of the house outside the day we bought it.

And with no exterior walls on the front of the house (that is Drew's bedroom)

Oh Yay! There's a wall!
Drew's room now

Eli's room then and now

our room then and now

Exterior Back of The House (Pergola In Progress)

pergola is done now and back is painted - the lighting is bad back there but you get the idea

Exterior Now (In Progress)

And this is the front stuccoed and painted
