Halloween

We went trick or treating with friends tonight. Jason's best friend has his two nephews visiting from England for a month. They have never experienced Halloween before and were very excited to find out what it was all about tonight. We joined them on their adventure and had a great time.

Before we left the house, the kids got in a little pre-trick or treating snoozefest.

Before we left their house to trick or treat

A test run at their house to practice what to say and how to be polite (and to teach them not to take 25 pieces of candy at each house, not that they ever would).

Let the trick or treating begin

I am such a sucker for the cuteness that is kids running too and from houses. It made me smile each and every time watching those little out of control feet sprint back and forth.

Some randomness from the night

These people asked each kid to tell a joke to get their candy. Drew says she told a knock knock joke.

Eli was leading the way at the beginning of the night but fell behind for the last hour. He spent a lot of the last hour in the stroller.

The boys thought this was too scary to go through, so Drew jumped ahead of them and led the way.

scary pumpkins

the kids each had a little pumpkin so we decided to do a craft project with them yesterday afternoon. Short and sweet and fun.

Costume Day at Eli's School

Today was costume parade and trick or treating around Eli's school. I'm only sharing pics here that don't have other kids in them for privacy reasons. :) That left my selection of photos to share limited. Drew is home from school today so she went too.

Let The Halloween Fun Begin

Today was the first of the halloween festivities we have planned for this week. Downtown's walking mall had trick or treating, so we went to that. Since we were early, we stopped and got pumpkins (in front of a church - we'd have to drive 2 hours to get to a real pumpkin patch from here) before going off to beg for candy, I mean trick or treat.

Hey Hay

Eli spent all day Friday with Pop Pop. One of the things they did was to go to a farm and get some hay. Imagine Drew's delight when she and I pulled up to their house later in the afternoon and she saw the huge bales in the yard. She couldn't wait to climb on them. She and Eli played on them yesterday afternoon then she wanted to go back out there this morning to climb, slide, throw and crawl. I said "let me get the camera to take some pictures". She said "you can take pictures if you'll crawl through the hay tunnel". um...okay...so I crawled through that tiny hole. I was afraid I'd get stuck and have to get someone to move the hay for me to get out. Seeing as dad and Eli had left together and it was just mom inside in her jammies eating breakfast I am not sure who I thought would save me. I was relieved to make it through. And Drew sure was proud of me. Then she let me take all these cute pictures while she played.
