Napping in the Cozy Chair
Eli's not much of a napper and when he does nap, it's almost always in my arms or sometimes on daddy. But today, I was in what has been deemed the cozy chair nursing him and he stopped nursing and snuggled up with his head on the pillow and my arm under him and he let me sing him to sleep. I snuck off to actually get some stuff done during his nap and he just looked so stinking cute and cozy I had to snap a picture.

This Old House
Once upon a time, we bought a little house. Crapshack, really. And We (Jason) have been fixing it up for the past year and change. It's small (about 1800 sf), has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. While a lot has been changed in the past year, there is still a lot to do, but it's cozy and cute and a sweet little place to call home, finally. At the moment, Jason is hanging drywall in the 3rd to be renovated bedroom. When that is done, Eli will have his room to himself and I'll be able to share more pictures. So, for today, I have pics of the living room, kitchen, dining area, and Drew's room to share. You'll have to use your imagination for a lot of the before - because I took about 100 pics right after we bought the house but they were on our laptop that died. I know, so sad. So...picture dark fake wood panelling on all walls, orange and green swirled shag carpet in the living room, red shag carpet in Drew's room, disgusting linoleum floors in the kitchen. Imagine gross and multiply by 10,000 :) And something to remember as you look at these. Jason didn't just take out panelling and slap up drywall. He took down all the walls, poured a concrete base and then put in all new walls. Someday, we'll even get to doing the outside stucco and a nice new fence and such but for now, we're just picking away at the inside.
The *only* before pics I have are a couple Drew took of me when she was on a phototaking kick last year.
So here's the living room - before and after:

Kitchen - before and after (and really, after is an overstatement - we still have lots we'd like to do to change it but for now, it's okay. and I am not showing the other side of the kitchen as it's very much a work in progress!):

Dining area - used to be a useless waste of space entryway so we moved the front door to the living room and made it the eating area:

And Drew's room in progress and now - actually this is a couple months ago - it's rearranged now but a mess so I didn't take a current current pic

And here is Jason's biggest helper!

New Tshirts!
Grandma Joanne and Aunt Elizabeth spent a weekend in San Francisco to celebrate Elizabeth's birthday last month and these lovely tshirts arrived this week in the mail! I didn't realize it would be so hard to get a picture of both of my kids sitting still next to one another. :)
Thank you, Grandma Joanne! Drew loves her "heart SF" shirt!

More than pictures
Well, it's a lazy Sunday morning and both kids are entertained for the moment so I thought I'd share more than pictures today and actually inform everyone of some cute stuff the kids are up to.
Drew - funny as ever. She's so energetic and hilarious. When she's not driving me crazy, she's melting my heart or leaving me in stitches from laughing so hard. Let's see - yesterday, we went to Target. Before we left the house, I said we'd do errands and then get donuts on our way home. Well, she was not listening to me at all in Target, just running in circles and singing at the top of her lungs and being all around anxiety inducing. So we get to the car and I tell her we're just going straight home, no donuts because I just can't handle anymore and she needs to listen to me blah blah lecture lecture. She looks me straight in the eye and says "little princesses don't like when their mommies are mean!" Oh my, we really are in for it with this one :)
She started gymnastics last week and loves it. when I asked her about her class afterward, she said she loves the balance beam and that she did head stands and swung on the bars. Sounds like a fun time! oh! and I asked about the other kids in her class and if she likes them she says "yeah, i like them. there's one girl in a purple swimsuit with boogers on her cheeks!" when i laughed and repeated what she said, she stops me saying "wait! no! not boogers! freckles! she has freckles on her cheeks!" ha ha ha.
Eli - is growing like a weed, he'll be 8 months old next week. I don't know where the time has gone. He is quite an agile little monkey climbing around into and onto things all over the place. He's a sensitive little guy and just so so so sweet. He's been babbling a bit, saying mama and poppop and hi occassionally. This week he's dropped all babbling and replaced it with shrieking though. FUN! :)
Seeing him and Drew play together and love each other is just so wonderful. Eli lights up at seeing Drew and vice versa.
Okay, that's enough for now. My cup of coffee is gone and the kids are not playing independently any longer.
